IMPORTANT NOTE:
IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT DOING THE INCA TRAIL ...
There are things that you must know and prepare for ... with or without TAMBO TOURS/ 2GOPERU.com
In 2004 the Peruvian government ( INC / UNG ) set up several controls of the allowed permits for the Inca Trail.
One of the "new laws" created was to restrict the total of 500 persons per day to enter the trail. This includes the
total of customers, guides, porters & cooks. Another law created was a first come first served reservation system.
The first reservations made with proper customers passport, names, numbers, ages and $50.00 fees paid
were to be granted the Inca Trail Permit. After the specific dates were sold out they would not take
reservations or issue any additional permits for that date. Though most of the companies that offer the
Inca Trail work within the regulations there are a few that have been involved in the
corruptiveness of these ( INC / UNG ) officials that regulate these treasured permits.
In doing so has caused many "issues" to remain unanswered to these late days of 2004.
Because of these "corruptive local companies & corrupted government employees" many travelers
as your self could be effected if you are not aware of the issues about getting the proper permits
and that the proper documents completed at time of reservation.
All travelers MUST at time of requested booking with operator OR travel agency submit...

A

PROPER identifications. ( PASSPORT :  name, passport number & age )
 B PRE PAY Inca Trail entry fee ( $60.00 )  NOTE  -  ( increases to $90.00 3/1/06 )
C The operator OR travel agency must receive permit with your name & data on it.
What we have been able to gather is the  ( INC / UNG ) officials are SOON to have some
solutions to ALL companies for the the 2005 Inca Trail permits. However we have heard that ALL
year and believe they are only trying to cover their corruptive tracks and devise new ways
to fill their pockets on the side. We only hope that they do try to resolve these issues as it will
help all, customers, venders and the local economy.
